STAYING AT CURRAWONG
There is no onsite shop at Currawong however the first ferry of the day sells milk and newspapers but no bread. You can meet the ferry to purchase these items if you wish.
Where to go for food supplies
For basic grocery items Palm Beach has two general stores, the first is opposite the wharf and the other — Palm Beach Cellars — is about 150m South. There are also restaurants, an RSL Club and a fish and chips shop in the area.
If you need to purchase more substantial supplies during your stay the nearest supermarket and shopping centre is in Avalon, a ten minute drive south from Palm Beach Wharf.
Please bring your own
- Food and drink and tea towels
- Bed linen — sheets and pillow slips for all beds and extra bed linen and sleeping bags if you require these for your group
- Towels, soap and other bathroom items
- Fishing gear: rods, reels and bait
- Swimming/diving gear: snorkels, masks, goggles, flippers
- Sports gear: tennis balls and golf balls (we can supplement with resort tennis and golf balls but it's recommended you bring your own)
- Insect repellent and sunscreen
- Good torch and matches (remember Currawong is out of the city so it gets dark at night)
Cleaning
Currawong operates on a "leave-it-as-you-found-it" system. Guests are required to clean their cottages prior to departure so that incoming guests are not inconvenienced by lengthy delays. A cleaning deposit of $50 is required and paid on arrival. This deposit is refunded provided the cottage is left in a clean and tidy condition suitable for use by incoming guests.
If you have communal meals, ensure that utensils and plates are returned to their respective cottages.
Please note that management reserves the right to refuse future bookings if the cottages are not cleaned to a satisfactory standard.
Currawong is located in a national park so no pets or tents are allowed.
Dangerous activity, noisy boating and unsupervised minors operating boats will not be tolerated. It is expected that guests will be respectful of each other's space and of the surrounding marine and bush environment in the activities they choose to pursue whilst at Currawong.
